Nice like rice

Where everything started. Nice Like Rice kicked off in April 2013 at it's now regular spot, The Harley, with a sold out Monday.

Since then it's hosted over 30 parties in 100 - 1300 cap venues, spanning all genres from abstract instrumental hip-hop to house, disco to techno. Previous bookings include KiNK, Omar-S, HNNY, Moxie, Gilles Peterson, Soichi Terada & many, many more.

Approaching and using interesting, obscure and innovative venues across Sheffield is a big part of NLR,  in the past we've worked with The Night Kitchen, Hope Works, The Harley, Theatre Delicatessen, Bal Fashions, Foundry, o2 Academy to name a few and are always on the hunt for new spaces.

Cosmic Disco

Cosmic Disco is a soulful series of themed parties with emphasis on using interesting spaces, vibrant decoration and playing funky grooves.

Interactive installations are at the heart of Cosmic Disco parties and since it started we've had light up dance floors, walk in disco domes, laser eyed giant face sculptures, walk-through kaleidoscopes- and many more wonderful creations.

A focus of the soulful side of dance music they've hosted disco legends including Dimitri From Paris, John Morales, Joey Negro, Nightmares On Wax & more..

Miami Rice

NLR’s infamous residents party. Catch their residents ‘Team Rice’ playing out their record collections every couple of months at The Harley.


Deep Sea Disco

Cosmic Disco’s own resident’s thang – Deep Sea Disco is an immersive underwater party which start at The Harley and has branched out to Wire in Leeds and has more to come!

Castlegate escape

A Sheffield council funded community event planned for June 2018 proposed to help regenerate the Castlegate area of Sheffield.

Just Shake were approached to help with the regeneration of the area in Autumn 2016 and receiving funding for the Castlegate Escape in early 2018.

The intention is to create links with local groups in The Wicker, Burngreave and Park Hill to integrate the different communities and cultures of the areas to create a multi-cultural event.
